• Getting to spawn up to 1000 eggs of a considerable size that adhere to the

Roots of trees that are under water.

Feeding:

• Carnivorous species.

• They usually feed on fish, insects, amphibians, worms and small

mammals.

Distribution:

• Native to South America, specifically in the Amazon River Basin, of some

rivers of Paraguay and Panama, as well as the coastal rivers of northeast Brazil.
