• It is a kind of non-poisonous snake; the color of the back varies between grayish brown, less common yellow, gray or reddish; belly white to yellow.
• It has diurnal and/or nocturnal activities, it locates its prey through thermoreceptive pits, which allow it to distinguish the heat emitted by the bodies of its prey.
• Some individuals show a peaceful behavior, however, they are aggressive and as a defense measure they bite and hide.
Reproduction:
• Ovoviviparous snake.
• It reaches sexual maturity around 3 years old. Between May and April, the specimens will copulate, as a general rule, more than once.
Feeding:
• It is carnivorous, eating mammals such as bats, small rodents, squirrels and birds; very rarely eats reptiles and amphibians.
Distribution:
• Reptile native to South America in countries such as: Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, French Guiana, Guiana and Suriname.
